Your item is made from fleece produced by nature, grown at Rare Flocks Farm. These fibres may contain some lanolin, which will give the wool some shower repellent qualities and a beautiful earthy smell. If your item is dyed, the lanolin will have been stripped out. Either way, hand wash only in lukewarm water and a reputable wool detergent, only when absolutely necessary (for example, once a year before storing for the warmer months) and rinse well. To remove excess water before lifting out of the sink, press into the sides of the sink. Wring very gently, and most definitely do not hang your item.

Place on a flat towel, arrange into shape, and allow to dry, preferably in a shady airy spot. Allow for a few days for this process depending on your weather conditions, and turn over daily to ensure more even drying.

You can if you need to speed the drying process up, place your item in a  mesh laundry bag or pillow case, knot the top tight to ensure it is held securely, and put it on a short spin cycle only (no rinsing) of your washing machine. All items must lay flat to dry.

A beautifully handcrafted wool garment can provide warmth, comfort, and enjoyment for decades. Each piece is unique, and with gentle care, it will continue to soften, wear beautifully, and become a treasured part of your wardrobe for years to come. 

Storing your garment is just as important as the other manual care. To prevent damage it is important that your item is folded neatly,stored in a storage bag, and add some suitable pest deterrent  (cedarwood, lavender, eucalyptus, or tea tree essential oils are good natural options) . While camphor and moth balls are reliable and work, their smell will infiltrate your fibres.
